Prepare a storyboard - pick a story or a poem, analyze the content and pick 1-3 key moments to illustrate.

Who is the story's audience (reader)? That will define the style of the spread (young children, college students, adults, etc...)

Character development - is there a main character? what is it? Practice drawing this character with different expressions and in different situations,from different sides. Submit sketches.

You will need to design a 2 page spread that includes text and illustrations.

each page is letter size 8.5"x11". use portrait or landscape layout.

Search for inspiration book layouts (Pinterest is a good source).
