You can also create a more challenging design:

You will need extra 6 black and 3 white squares1"x1"
and 6 grey squares 0.5"x0.5"

step 1

Draw a 9"x6" grid on a bright colored construction paper.

Cut six 3"x3" black squares

Cut three 3"x3" white squares

Cut six 2"x2" grey squares.

Cut white squares diagonally in halves.

step 2

Align the corners of black and white shapes.

Glue them together.

Place the grey square in the center.
Align the corners and glue together.
Continue gluing the elements.

step 3

When you have all elements ready - align them with the grid.

Glue!
